Here are a few extra pointers to help you save money while grocery shopping: - Shop alone! - The more people you have with you while shopping, the more items will tend to end up in your grocery basket.

- You will most likely get better savings by using your coupon on the smallest size that the coupon will allow.
- Check comparable brands for the best bargain.
- Stay disciplined by buying what is on your list or what will give you the big savings. Impulse buys cost you more.
Grocery Shopping Check Out Tips There are a few things you should always do when in the check out land and leaving the grocery store: - Be Friendly - I always go to the same check out person if she is working. I call her by name (she wears a name tag) and always strike up some type of conversation while she is ringing up my groceries. Not only is this a nice thing to do, but if you are friendly to them, they may be friendly to you. There has been more than one time wear an expired coupon was allowed through or a coupon for an item I didn't have went through.
- Organize your coupons - You want to organize your coupons tomake it easier for the cashier to ring up. Put you highest dollar amount coupons that can be tripled on top and place your triple coupons on top of those. There are the couponns that you want tripled and you want to ensure that you are getting the most out of your triple coupons. Don't take a chance that the cashier will not triple the best coupons. Also, make sure you hand the coupons to the cashier in a nice pile, not a crumpled heap.
- Overpriced Items - Try to put all of your overpriced items together. This will make it much easier to find them on your receipt when you go to the customer service desk. I usually put them on the belt first so they are first on the grocery receipt.
- Rainchecks - Don't forget to stop by the customer service desk for a raincheck for any items that were out of stock. This can be done while you're at the desk for your overpriced items.
- Frequent Flier Miles - I got myself a credit card that will generate frequent flier miles and use it to pay for my groceries. In this manner, I'm earning a free airline trip while I shop. The other added benefit comes from the overpriced grocery items. I pay with my credit card and get free miles, but then get cash back when I stop by the customer service desk. I use that cash as my spending money during the week instead of stopping by a bank machine that will not give me the miles.
